First Insight into the Upcoming Post-Apocalyptic Game Metro: Last Light

Today I was on YouTube and I just happened to stumble across the short film Metro: Last Light. It was actually an add on a video, and for the first time in history I did not choose to skip it after 5 seconds. In fact, I sat through the whole 4 minutes in a complete awe. Now, I am sure many of you know a lot about the game Metro 2033 which is based off of the Russian Novel with the same name. Metro 2033 is a post-apocalyptic style survival/first person shooter game, reminiscent of games such as Fall Out. The game takes place mostly underground in the Metro below Moscow, hence the name. Well, a first look into the sequel to this game has just been released in the form of this live action film. Here it is!

If you were not completely blown away by this film then I don’t know what is wrong with you! This is truly one of the best short films I have ever seen and it just makes me all that more excited for the release of Metro: Last Light. I’ll admit that I actually have never had the opportunity to play Metro 2033, but I am sure I will be picking up a copy of this game when it comes out early next year!

Let me know in a comment what you guys think of this short film and if you plan on buying Metro: Last Light in 2013!

BioShock Infinite Postponed untill 2013!!

Over the last few months I have made a few blog posts regarding the game BioShock Infinite. Well, just recently it was announced that the game will be delayed until early 2013. The game is now scheduled to be released on the 26th of February. This four month delay is supposed to allow the game developers to make minor but necessary tweaks to the game.

The creative director of the game, Ken Levine, made the announcement and commented on the matter, saying, “BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter.” He continued to convince the fans that the wait is worth it, adding, “it means a bit more waiting, but more importantly, it means an even better BioShock Infinite.”

Many of the fans seem to be growing weary of waiting, as this game has been in the works for an extremely long time. The first trailer was released late last year and since then fans have been told to sit tight and wait. I have never played a BioShock game before so this wait does not really affect me, but it does make me excited to see what the final product will look like. I may even go out and buy the game when it comes out in 9 months.

What are your opinions on the postponed BioShock release? Are you happy that the developers are taking the time to make sure they release a perfect game or do you wish they would speed up the release process? Let me know in a comment!

What Would Make Black Ops 2 a Million times Better

Image From mapmodnews.com

Now this point will greatly determine how much I enjoy Black Ops two. Whether or not it includes a zombies portion of the game. I am a person who thoroughly enjoys the zombie mode on Call of Duty. And I really don’t know whether to expect or a zombie mode or not. There are reasons why they would and wouldn’t. The Easter egg on the moon map seemed to be the finale of the zombie story line, I’m not exactly sure where they could go. But on the other hand it would seem strange for Treyarch to just drop the zombie mode, especially since the original Black Ops had a zombies mode. I think it would just be a tad strange if Black Ops 2 did not have zombies. And I mean come on, Call of Duty is a huge franchise so they really should put the extra effort into the game. And if Zombies isn’t in the new Black Ops, I am afraid it would be replaced with Infinity Ward’s inferior counterpart, Spec Ops or whatever. I also just think that the Zombie mode of call of duty has taken on a life of its own. Call me a bit of a fanatic, but I would totally buy a game that was solely zombie mode from Call of Duty. So yeah I’m losing sight of my point, Black Ops 2 should absotivily have a Zombie mode. for real.

New Family Guy Video Game: Back to the Multiverse!!

GameRant.com

If you are a fan of both Family Guy as well as video games, then you will be excited to hear that a new Family Guy video game will be released in September of this year. The game will be titled Back to the Multiverse and is in fact is already listed on Amazon as a placeholder.

The game revolves around the Road to the Multiverse episode of Family Guy from the Eighth season. In the episode, Brian and Stewie set out on an adventure through a multitude of different alternate universes via Stewie’s magical universe transportation remote. As they travel through the fabrics of reality, they eventually get stuck in a universe where humans are subservient to dogs. Brian is eager to further explore this universe, but Stewie is ready to leave. This results in the two fighting over the remote and accidently destroying it. They are forced to locate the dog version of the Griffen family in order to retrieve dog-Stewie’s universe remote to allow them to get home.

I am very excited for this game. I have always been drawn to games like The Simpsons: Hit and Run as well as many of the older Family guy games and I feel as if this is the perfect setting for the next installment in the Family Guy video game series. I think that the setting is perfect as the Multiverse episode is one of my favorites. The game will be released on both Xbox 360 as well as the PlayStation 3 on September 25th, 2012.

Tell me what you guys think about this new Family Guy game. Do you enjoy video games based off of shows like Family Guy or do you think that it’s just a ploy for companies to make more money? Let me know in a comment!

What I Think About the Next Cod Game

Call of Duty games are famous (or infamous) for really bad campaigns and extremely addicting Multi-player. I’m sure the next instalment of the series will be no exception, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Despite my negative disposition to the Call of Duty franchise, I must admit I was excited when I saw the trailer for the coming game. Partly because it’s being made by Treyarch, which, in my opinion, is far more superior than Infinity Ward.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not excited for the campaign one bit, even thought that was all the trailer was about. I’m excited for the Multi-player. Even though I know it will just be the same recycled gameplay, it will entertain me in a slightly cheap way, but entertain me none the less. Also since this is the first Cod game to take place in the future, I am curios to see if they make up a few guns, which could give some very much needed diversity to gun choice.

Looking Good So Far

Today I managed to get down to the game store and purchase [Prototype2]. After that my mom wanted to go into the “As seen on TV” store, where I was pleasantly surprised to spark a lengthy conversation about the Prototype games with the person working at the store. After that was over we went back to the house and I stated playing my freshly purchased game. I didn’t get too much play time but I think it’s safe to say that Prototype 2 is astoundingly better than its predecessor and will be a game that I thoroughly enjoy playing. I will most likely do a more in depth post about Prototype 2 next week when I’ve had sufficient play time. But until then,

The Best of the Best

When I made a post about my favorite Youtube series I thought it would maybe be a good post idea to pick some of my favorite episodes. So that’s what this post is, but that turned out to be much harder than I thought. It was so hard to pick because I loved each episode so much, in the end, I suppose I mostly picked the episodes that stood out most in my memory.

I couldn’t possibly put them in any certain order, so here are my top 5 favorite episodes of Two Best Friends Play

Two Best Friends Play: Deadly Premonition

Two Best Friends Play: Xbox Live Indie Games

Two Best Friends Play: Man Vs. Wild

Two Best Friends Play: Dead Rising 2 Off the Record

Two Best Friends Play: Prison Break

Honestly it would probably have been easier to make a list of the Two Best Friends episodes that aren’t the best. But I had much more fun reminiscing in the amazing times instead of instead of really good times. So in case you haven’t noticed by now I’m a pretty hard core fan of Matt and Pat.

So what do you think of my favorite episodes, Two Best Friends, or Youtube Game commentators in general? Let me know in a comment!

Nintendo Looses $500 Millions Dollars This Year!!

DigitalTrends.com

For the first time in Nintendo‘s history it released it’s profit statistics and the results were negative. One of the greatest gaming companies in the world lost over $500 million dollars during the last fiscal year. You may be wondering how this could be possible considering that the previous year they managed to pull in just under $1 billion dollars in profits and were doing a good job of dominating the video game market. Well, they did not release any new systems this year or any new franchises to encourage consumers to spend more money on their products. In fact, the company was forced to reduce the price of the Nintendo 3Ds, one of their top selling products, to around $170, which is less then it costs to produce, generating a net loss.

Although things currently look grim for Nintendo, they could stills trike back in the coming year. With the release of the Nintendo Wii U there will be a huge increase in sales as well as new franchises to support this new product. Nintendo seems to be counting on countering this negative year with an extremely successful upcoming year.

I personally feel as if Nintendo is slowly being fazed out of the gaming world as more and more gamers switch to major consoles such as the Xbox and the PlayStation. Although I respect Nintendo for everything it has contributed to the gaming world, despite a select few games, I am not incredibly drawn to Nintendo’s products. I don’t foresee any major comebacks for Nintendo in the upcoming year. Although they will most definitely do better financially with the release of new products, I feel that the only way for Nintendo to live up to the company it once was, is to create something completely new that can dominate the market without competing with better companies with bigger audiences and better games.

This is just my opinion. What do you guys think about Nintendo and are you surprised by these statistics? Let me know in a comment!

Was I Right, or Was I Right?

I’m actually not so sure. Today [Prototype2] came out, and as none of you will remember, I did my very first post about the [Prototype] series. To sum it up, I said [Prototype] sucked, but it has potential as a series, just as Assassin’s Creed sucked, but turned into a great series. I’m not hyped enough about [Prototype2] to run down to Gamestop and buy it today, but I’ll definitely get it sometime this week. In the mean time, here’s a trailer for [Prototype2]:

I have really high hopes for the game after seeing this trailer, because it proves that a huge effort was made to insert a more interesting story into Prototype 2. I also really like the song choice it goes really well with the trailer.

Release Date for Halo 4 Announced!

UberGizmo.com

If you are a serious gamer and you own an Xbox 360 then you probably know all about Halo. I made a blog post regarding the release of Halo 4 which you can read here. As I stated in this post, Bungie, the original creators of the franchise, will not be releasing this game. They sold the series to 343 Industries, who are again teaming up with Microsoft to release an Xbox exclusive Halo 4. This game has generated a lot of hype as hardcore Halo fans question whether or not 343 Industries can live up to the legacy that Bungie has left behind. Well we are getting to closer to finding the answer to this questions as 343 Industries has finally anounced the release date for the game. This Election day, Novemer 6th 2012 Halo 4 will be released to the public. I am sure I will buy this game as I adore the Halo series, but unlike some I am not quite as much of a dedicated fan. I thihnk the games are incridible and the story line is unmatched by any other game series, but I have never been one to count down the days till a Halo release.

So what do you guys think about Halo 4 and do you plan on buying it when it comes out later this year? Let me know in a comment!
