BioShock Infinite Postponed untill 2013!!

Over the last few months I have made a few blog posts regarding the game BioShock Infinite. Well, just recently it was announced that the game will be delayed until early 2013. The game is now scheduled to be released on the 26th of February. This four month delay is supposed to allow the game developers to make minor but necessary tweaks to the game.

The creative director of the game, Ken Levine, made the announcement and commented on the matter, saying, “BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter.” He continued to convince the fans that the wait is worth it, adding, “it means a bit more waiting, but more importantly, it means an even better BioShock Infinite.”

Many of the fans seem to be growing weary of waiting, as this game has been in the works for an extremely long time. The first trailer was released late last year and since then fans have been told to sit tight and wait. I have never played a BioShock game before so this wait does not really affect me, but it does make me excited to see what the final product will look like. I may even go out and buy the game when it comes out in 9 months.

What are your opinions on the postponed BioShock release? Are you happy that the developers are taking the time to make sure they release a perfect game or do you wish they would speed up the release process? Let me know in a comment!

What Would Make Black Ops 2 a Million times Better

Image From mapmodnews.com

Now this point will greatly determine how much I enjoy Black Ops two. Whether or not it includes a zombies portion of the game. I am a person who thoroughly enjoys the zombie mode on Call of Duty. And I really don’t know whether to expect or a zombie mode or not. There are reasons why they would and wouldn’t. The Easter egg on the moon map seemed to be the finale of the zombie story line, I’m not exactly sure where they could go. But on the other hand it would seem strange for Treyarch to just drop the zombie mode, especially since the original Black Ops had a zombies mode. I think it would just be a tad strange if Black Ops 2 did not have zombies. And I mean come on, Call of Duty is a huge franchise so they really should put the extra effort into the game. And if Zombies isn’t in the new Black Ops, I am afraid it would be replaced with Infinity Ward’s inferior counterpart, Spec Ops or whatever. I also just think that the Zombie mode of call of duty has taken on a life of its own. Call me a bit of a fanatic, but I would totally buy a game that was solely zombie mode from Call of Duty. So yeah I’m losing sight of my point, Black Ops 2 should absotivily have a Zombie mode. for real.

What I Think About the Next Cod Game

Call of Duty games are famous (or infamous) for really bad campaigns and extremely addicting Multi-player. I’m sure the next instalment of the series will be no exception, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Despite my negative disposition to the Call of Duty franchise, I must admit I was excited when I saw the trailer for the coming game. Partly because it’s being made by Treyarch, which, in my opinion, is far more superior than Infinity Ward.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not excited for the campaign one bit, even thought that was all the trailer was about. I’m excited for the Multi-player. Even though I know it will just be the same recycled gameplay, it will entertain me in a slightly cheap way, but entertain me none the less. Also since this is the first Cod game to take place in the future, I am curios to see if they make up a few guns, which could give some very much needed diversity to gun choice.

Looking Good So Far

Today I managed to get down to the game store and purchase [Prototype2]. After that my mom wanted to go into the “As seen on TV” store, where I was pleasantly surprised to spark a lengthy conversation about the Prototype games with the person working at the store. After that was over we went back to the house and I stated playing my freshly purchased game. I didn’t get too much play time but I think it’s safe to say that Prototype 2 is astoundingly better than its predecessor and will be a game that I thoroughly enjoy playing. I will most likely do a more in depth post about Prototype 2 next week when I’ve had sufficient play time. But until then,

The Best of the Best

When I made a post about my favorite Youtube series I thought it would maybe be a good post idea to pick some of my favorite episodes. So that’s what this post is, but that turned out to be much harder than I thought. It was so hard to pick because I loved each episode so much, in the end, I suppose I mostly picked the episodes that stood out most in my memory.

I couldn’t possibly put them in any certain order, so here are my top 5 favorite episodes of Two Best Friends Play

Two Best Friends Play: Deadly Premonition

Two Best Friends Play: Xbox Live Indie Games

Two Best Friends Play: Man Vs. Wild

Two Best Friends Play: Dead Rising 2 Off the Record

Two Best Friends Play: Prison Break

Honestly it would probably have been easier to make a list of the Two Best Friends episodes that aren’t the best. But I had much more fun reminiscing in the amazing times instead of instead of really good times. So in case you haven’t noticed by now I’m a pretty hard core fan of Matt and Pat.

So what do you think of my favorite episodes, Two Best Friends, or Youtube Game commentators in general? Let me know in a comment!

Living In a Gamers Paradise

Everyday I wake up in what most would consider to be an over the top gamers room, but to me, it’s just my room. My room includes all 4 major mediums of gaming, two flat screen TVs, and an HD PVR. So without further ado, here they are.

First of all, my personal plasma flat screen TV, gaming consoles are practically useless without them.

Here you see my HD PVR, my Xbox 360, and my Wii. The main gaming console I use is the Xbox. Most Wii exclusive games suck, but there are a few gems that I like enough to continue owning a Wii for.

On the other side of my TV you see my Playstation 3. When it comes to the war between Xbox and Playstation I am fully on Xbox’s side. I like Xbox exclusive games much better, and the Xbox network kicks PSN’s ass. But I definitely acknowledge that there are many quality Playstation exclusives, therefor I own a PS3.

Hanging across the room is my 2nd TV, which I primarily use to watch TV shows on. My friends always complain about its awkward height when they have to play Xbox on it.

Here is my spare Xbox, the reason I have two is this one got red ring some time ago, I bought a new one but never got rid of this one, after a few years this one was working again.

And here is the newest addition to my gamer’s paradise, my Alienware x17. It is awesome. nuff said.

Creed’s Getting Real

Today I went and pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed III and as a lot of you may know, when you do so you get a super sexy collectors edition case.

Yeah this has gotten me incredibly hyped for Assassin’s Creed III. I have been intrigued by one thing in particular by getting this, the fact that he is half Native American. When the first cover artwork was released everyone started saying that, but I wasn’t sure how they knew that. Looking at this cover makes it seems pretty clear that that is indeed the case. But I digress. I wonder at the possibilities regarding his Native American heritage. Was he raised by Native Americans? How were Native Americans accepted into the assassin order? Are the Assassins working directly with the American revolutionists? Is America a completely Assassin ruled nation? and just the idea of seeing Templars and Assassins in colonial America seems so incredibly cool. The only thing that kind of annoys me about this collector case is the rating… rating pending? really? I never understood why series with many installments with the same rating ever have a rating pending logo. Of course I understand when it comes to completely new games, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a game that has cover art of a shady figure wielding a tomahawk and pistol will be rated M.

Yeah, the artwork is shiny and looks amazing. Also its made of metal.

This game is going to be simply amazing, no doubt about it.  I am very excited to see how Assassins and Templars have adapted to more modern times. The game comes out in November, so we have a while to wait. But this means it’ll be coming out during next school year, and I’m taking American history next year. So I’ll really know whats going on.

So what do you think of Assassin’s Creed III, RP ratings, or gaming in general? Let me know with a comment!

Assassin’s Creed 3 Has Some Pretty High Expectations To Live Up To

I’m not worried about the game living up to the high quality gameplay, setting, or plot, all of these I believe will be fantastic. I am talking about the main character.

The transition from Altair Ahad (the most uncharismatic man in all of history) to Ezio Auditore (a badass charismatic italian) was incredibly well received. And who would expect otherwise? Ezio is simply awesome in every way.

One reason I believe it will be hard for gamers to part with Ezio is because they have been through so much with him. Gamers were with Ezio from the beginning, when he was just a young man without a care in the world. They were with him when templars murdered his family, and when he was thrusted into the secret order of assassins. Gamers were with him from the begining of his assassin life all the way till the end

And now gamers must accept a completely new face to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. I do have high hopes for this new assassin, even if he does not live up to Ezio’s greatness, I’m sure he will be an excellent addition to the series.

All in all I am incredibly hyped for the new Assassin’s Creed, let me know what you think about it in a comment!

Top 5 Most Badass Video Game Characters

Following my new post framework, Thursday starts with a “T” so it’s a free post day

Number 5: Marcus Fenix

Image from gearsofwar.wikia.com

In the Gears of War games Marcus is a soldier that fights against the locust. Badass features include: being ripped beyond believe, guns with chainsaws on them, destroying entire populations of locust multiple times, and as Sam once said “These guys are way too buff! They have six packs on their asses!”

Number 4: Scorpion

Image from mortalkombat.wikia.com

Scorpion is from the Mortal Kombat series, and is probably one of the most recognizable characters. In the rivalry between Scorpion and Sub Zero, I side with Scorpion completely. Badass features include: the ability to conjure fire, his chain spear, his dual blades, and the fact that when he removes his mask a skull is revealed.

Number 3: Isaac Clarke

Image from deadspace.wikia.com

Isaac has the pleasure of getting caught in the midst of deep space adventures, government conspiracies, and of course space zombies. Well not generic zombies in any sense, they are referred to as necromorphs and are the product of human DNA being rearranged by a mysterious alien artifact known as the marker. Anyway, badass features include: an awesome advanced space suit, crashing through walls into and out of space multiple times, being able to save the human race while suffering from mental affects from the marker, and the ability to use a foam finger as a weapon.

Number 2: Ezio Auditore

Image from photobucket.com

To see the reasons why Ezio Is a badass see what Sam has said about him: https://potassiumpizzaparty.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/10-reasons-why-ezio-auditore-of-assassins-creed-is-a-badass/

Number 1: John 117 “Master Chief”

Image from halo.wikia.com

Master Chief is by far the most badass video game character ever created. He is the main character of the Halo series; he protects the human race from an alliance of aliens known as the Covenant. Frankly, if it wasn’t for Master Chief, humanity would be royally screwed. Badass features include: being the last living spartan super soldier, single handedly destroying ancient forerunner Halos, the Covenant refer to him as “The Demon”, and he repeatedly punched the prophet of regret in the neck until he died.

So thats my top 5 most badass video game character list! Also, let me know who you think I should or shouldn’t have included.

How All Video Games Should Be More Like Dead Space 2

From now on, I will be following a loose framework for my posts, days that start with “T” are free post days were I can post whatever I like.

This post will have nothing to do with the game-play, story, or general awesomeness of Dead Space 2, instead it will be entirely about it’s achievements.

I for one enjoy the achievement system on the Xbox 360, and as you can see I have a pretty respectable amount of gamer-score. But as you can also see in “completed” game section, Dead Space 2 is very lonely… It is a good thing I finally got that last achievement I needed for Dead Space 2, because prior to this weekend I didn’t have every achievement unlocked for any game. Now when I say more games should be like Dead Space 2, I’m referring to the kinds of achievements in that game. All of them were fairly doable, no achievements were impossible to obtain and on the flip side, you didn’t get achievements for turning the game on, and yes I have played games were you got an achievement for exactly that.

Most of the achievements pertained to gameplay aspects, which you could easily get just by reading what the achievement was, and then altering your playing strategies to get said achievement. There were achievements in which you had to find secret items, normally I would have to look up how to do all of these achievements online, but the maps on Dead Space 2 are not too intricate and I found almost all the secret items I needed after a couple run-throughs. Another thing I appreciate about Dead Space 2 is that they didn’t have any achievements that you got from the multiplayer. When games make achievements that you must unlock in multiplayer matches, they just become chores that dampen your multiplayer experience, this would have been especially true in Dead Space 2’s case because I didn’t care for the multiplayer very much. Now, all games have that one achievement “Beat the game on the hardest difficulty” and Dead Space 2 is no exception.

Dead Space 2 has one of the hardest campaign of any game I have ever played, the only games that come to mind as being harder are the Halo games on legendary, and Twisted Metal (2012). But one thing that is different, is that Dead Space 2 doesn’t make you want to throw your controller across the room and rage like legendary Halo games do. The main thing that make Dead Space 2 hard is that on the hardest difficulty there are no checkpoints and you can only save three times. This seems like a daunting task, but once you get your strategies down it is very doable. Anyway, the main point I’m trying to make is games need to lighten up a bit with the difficulty of their achievements, and become a bit more like Dead Space 2. Achievements should be challenging, but not impossible, and easily obtained with some time and effort put towards it.

Now, what do you think of achievements and their difficulty?
