The Endeavor to Obtain My First Car

Today my car arrived from Denver Colorado on one of those giant car transporting trucks. Why did it come from all that way when I live in California you ask? The short answer is, because my parents are bad at thinking things through.

It is a very nice car and I am very excited to start diving it. It is a ford escape. I actually feel very strange getting a new car for my first car, but hey, I’m not complaining.

So anyway as I said the car arrived from Denver, and I will try to tell this tale as quickly as possible. My older sister lives in upstate New York, and for Christmas my parents bought her a car, and sent it all the way there on one of those giant trucks. The car was under my dad’s name, and unfortunately she wasn’t making the payments on the car. Thus my dad’s credit score began to drop.

To solve this problem my family and I, flew to New York, fully payed for a new car for my sister, and then started driving back to California in my sister’s old car, which would now be mine. My family couldn’t exactly handle driving across the country, so I flew out from St. Louis (as not to miss school), and my parents flew out of Denver (as they were fed up with driving). So we put the car on another moving truck from Denver to California. And that is the story of the many adventures my first car endured.

What do you think of my first car or the story that accompanies it? Let me know in a comment!

My Buddy Peter Griffin

Right above my couch chills a cardboard cutout of Peter Griffin.

I am a person who enjoys his family guy very much, so when I went over to my sister’s house for Christmas and I saw had gotten me a cardboard stand up of Peter Griffin, I was ecstatic. But over time, his cardboard legs began to give in. So I salvaged his top portion and stapled it above my couch. Peter has been there so long it hardly even notice him anymore, that’s why I hadn’t thought to do a post about him until just now. But every time a friend sees my room for the first time, they are really surprised to see Peter Griffin staring at them.

So what do you think of family guy or my cardboard cutout of peter? Let me know in a comment!

So Much to Do, So Little Time

I have really been at a loss of what write about as of late. Due to the fact that I simply have not had enough time to play games as much as I may like to. This mainly stems from my recent conscious decision to prioritize homework before video games, but ironically, this decision has hindered my ability to complete some of my homework. Because these blog posts I do are technically homework, but with this being a video game focused blog it has been hard to come up with topics with my reduced amount of game time.

Between homework, theater, family, driving practice, learning Italian and friends, the best I have been able to get in is maybe half an hour of Skyrim here or there, but certainly not enough to actually get anything done. I’m not so much complaining, as much as I’m just recognizing it. It is actually kind of refreshing, because at the height of my gaming life video games just about dominated my free time. It feels good to have many other things happening in my life, but it is also exhausting . I guess now I’m just trying to find the balance.

how do you manage your free time and work time? Let me know in a comment!

Hunger Games Review, Immediately After Midnight Premier

It is currently 2:44 am. I just got home after watching the midnight showing of the hunger games. I simply loved seeing my hands down favorite book of all time take life and shape on screen. Where do I begin? First of all I believe the characters to have been portrayed flawlessly. Each character acted exactly how I had pictured from reading the book. Although the movie moved very quickly (as all movie adaptions of books do), the movie took its time when it needed to. Inevitably with the loss of much of the main characters narration, a lot of the ideas found throughout the book were lost, but every emotion that came with these ideas were there, clear and strong. I honestly don’t know what else to say, I eagerly await the next two movies which will undoubtedly come out. Hopefully they will split the last book into two parts, to give it a more in depth ending. If you have not seen the movie, it is a must see. Unless you haven’t read the book, in which case you should read the book immediately and then go watch the movie.

I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a movie so much in my life. And that fact has made me come to a realization. This is the way all those Harry Potter, Lord of the rings, and Star Wars fans feel! I have never really been pulled into a series like this before, so this is my Star Wars. This is my Harry Potter. This is my Lord of the Rings. This is my Hunger Games!

Our First Post that is (somewhat) About Pizza!

Considering our blog name is Potassium Pizza Party, I thought it would be appropriate to have at least ONE post that is somewhat about pizza. I enjoy a variety of pizza places, but one of my constant favorites is a local chain called Rusty’s. I order from there a lot. So much in fact that I guess it was only a matter of time until the pizza man accidentally left the pizza bag at my house

So yeah, now I have a Rusy’s Pizza bag… I’ve been meaning to do a prank with it some night with my friends, but I’ve just been so lazy as of late. So yeah I think its pretty cool, what do you think?

Living In a Gamers Paradise

Everyday I wake up in what most would consider to be an over the top gamers room, but to me, it’s just my room. My room includes all 4 major mediums of gaming, two flat screen TVs, and an HD PVR. So without further ado, here they are.

First of all, my personal plasma flat screen TV, gaming consoles are practically useless without them.

Here you see my HD PVR, my Xbox 360, and my Wii. The main gaming console I use is the Xbox. Most Wii exclusive games suck, but there are a few gems that I like enough to continue owning a Wii for.

On the other side of my TV you see my Playstation 3. When it comes to the war between Xbox and Playstation I am fully on Xbox’s side. I like Xbox exclusive games much better, and the Xbox network kicks PSN’s ass. But I definitely acknowledge that there are many quality Playstation exclusives, therefor I own a PS3.

Hanging across the room is my 2nd TV, which I primarily use to watch TV shows on. My friends always complain about its awkward height when they have to play Xbox on it.

Here is my spare Xbox, the reason I have two is this one got red ring some time ago, I bought a new one but never got rid of this one, after a few years this one was working again.

And here is the newest addition to my gamer’s paradise, my Alienware x17. It is awesome. nuff said.

What do you think about the consol wars, gaming in general, or my gaming setup? let me know with a comment!

Creed’s Getting Real

Today I went and pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed III and as a lot of you may know, when you do so you get a super sexy collectors edition case.

Yeah this has gotten me incredibly hyped for Assassin’s Creed III. I have been intrigued by one thing in particular by getting this, the fact that he is half Native American. When the first cover artwork was released everyone started saying that, but I wasn’t sure how they knew that. Looking at this cover makes it seems pretty clear that that is indeed the case. But I digress. I wonder at the possibilities regarding his Native American heritage. Was he raised by Native Americans? How were Native Americans accepted into the assassin order? Are the Assassins working directly with the American revolutionists? Is America a completely Assassin ruled nation? and just the idea of seeing Templars and Assassins in colonial America seems so incredibly cool. The only thing that kind of annoys me about this collector case is the rating… rating pending? really? I never understood why series with many installments with the same rating ever have a rating pending logo. Of course I understand when it comes to completely new games, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a game that has cover art of a shady figure wielding a tomahawk and pistol will be rated M.

Yeah, the artwork is shiny and looks amazing. Also its made of metal.

This game is going to be simply amazing, no doubt about it.  I am very excited to see how Assassins and Templars have adapted to more modern times. The game comes out in November, so we have a while to wait. But this means it’ll be coming out during next school year, and I’m taking American history next year. So I’ll really know whats going on.

So what do you think of Assassin’s Creed III, RP ratings, or gaming in general? Let me know with a comment!

And Goodbye (console) Fallout

I suppose this is much more of a hello, than a goodbye, for I sadly haven’t been playing fallout at all. So that will make this transition easier and harder. Since I haven’t been playing Fallout at all it will be refreshing to play it again, but on the other hand I have put much more time and effort into my Fallout avatars than my Skyrim avatars.

My first Avatar, Vittor:

He is completely righteous and primarily uses guns, and unarmed.

My other avatar, Scarlet:

She only does things if it benefits her, she uses energy weapons, explosives, and unarmed.

So yeah it will be hard to part with these two wasteland Juggernauts, but I’m sure I will make equally badass and awesome avatars on my PC.

What do you think about PC vs Console, fallout, or games in general? let me know in a comment!

Watch Out PC Gamers!

Because here comes Ryan! With the arrival of my new Alienware laptop I have officially moved into all mediums of gaming.

It has taken me a little while to adjust to a PC from a mac, but I think I’m learning quickly. The main games I’m looking forward to playing are RPGs and Battlefield games.

I also got an awesome mouse for my laptop. All in all I am extremely excited in the places I will go with PC gaming. It seems extremely fun.

Top 5 Zombie Killing Devices

Your in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, what kind of heat should you be packing? This list will let you know!

Number 5:

A hand grenade can be a very effective weapon (with tons of splash damage) in taking out a group of zombies at a distance. I repeat, at a distance! The obvios drawback is if your dealing with one of those more agile zombies in an up-close and personal manner, a grenade will not help in the slightest. So in conclusion, a grenade is a good weapon to have for certain situations, but not as a primary weapon.

Number 4: Flamethrower

Setting a zombie on fire is a sure fire way to kill it, and you can easily set many zombies on fire at once. The only problem is, flaming zombies. Being set on fire hardly stops a zombie in their tracks, they still run towards you while still on fire. Granted wielding a flamethrower during a zombie onslaught is probably the most manly and badass thing you could ever do, but you need some distance between you and your brain-hungry enemies.

Number 3: Chainsaw

Chainsaws are one of the more classic zombie killing machines. Being torn apart by a chainsaw definitely stops zombies in their tracks. Chainsaws also dont run out of ammo, but a chainsaw isn’t good at killing mass hordes of zombies. With only a chainsaw You would easily get overran by a mass amount of zombies.

Number 2: Shotgun

When you think of killing zombies, you think of a shotgun, and for good reasons. Shotguns tear apart zombies enough to usually kill them in one shot each. The biggest problem is the reloading aspect of a shotgun. Under the pressure of zombies attempting to eat your brains, I dont believe you will be able to reload a shotgun very quickly.

Number 1: Wunderwaffe

The Wunderwaffe is the ultimate zombie killing device. By hitting one zombie with the chain lighting, mass groups of zombies and instantaneously killed. Reload time is a little lengthy, but after gaining a little breathing room with the Wunderwaffe reloading is a very doable task.

So those are the best zombie killing weapons of all time. What weapons would you bring into undead combat? let me know in a comment!
